It is my great pleasure to share with you the success of The Dhaka Mercantile Co-Operative Bank Ltd. for the year 2009-2010 having recently taken over as Chairman from Gr. Capt (retd.) Abu Zafar Chowdhury. I consider the past year’s performance as successful in achieving definitive goals through hard work despite all the challenges. I wish to thank all my staff for their unflagging enthusiasm and motivation as well as our clients for their confidence, loyalty and dedication. It has been possible due to an amazingly efficient team of committed, dedicated skill human resources who paved the long way of continuous success for this institution.

By any measure the fiscal year just ended was extraordinary in its challenges, but more notably, in the progress we made in advancing the strategy of the bank. The pages of this report are a clear statement of the way we have chosen to compete to achieve our goals and reflect the confidence we have going into the new financial year.

The way forwards for this bank involves focusing on growing the business by maximising client satisfaction through expanding client base and transaction volume. Customers' satisfaction is the driving force of our growth therefore we are always concerned about customers' need and look to facilitate them further in banking transactions. In addition, our effective and diversified approaches to catch hold of the market opportunities are a continuous process to accommodate new customers by further developing and expanding our products and services.

The absolute confidence and trust shown by our depositors, borrowers and clients in addition to relentless and active support of our honourable shareholders, well wishers give us confidence and encouragement to face any challenges or downturns to ensure higher growth and enhance image further. I once again thank our customers, shareholders, well-wishers and hope that the relentless and active support will continue in the times to come; and assure to meet your banking needs through quality services.
